Fresubin 2kcal Drinks are oral nutritional supplements with a high energy density (400 kcal per EasyDrink – 2.0 kcal/ml).
Fresubin 2kcal Drinks provide a balanced fatty acid profile to support the cardiovascular system, blood vessels and the immune system.
An intake that meets daily requirements for vitamins and trace elements is ensured from 3 EasyDrinks per day.

Dosage: - Average daily dose for supplementary nutrition: 1–2 EasyDrinks
- Average daily dose as sole source of nutrition: 4–5 EasyDrinks

Storage of the nutrition - Optimal storage conditions at room temperature (15°C to 25°C).
- Refrigerated storage (up to 4°C) is possible for 3 months without loss of quality; however, Fresubin 2kcal Drink chocolate should not be stored below 15°C.
- Storage at higher temperatures (up to 40°C) is possible for up to 1 month. Storage at higher temperatures (up to 40°C) generally causes faster, more pronounced creaming, a greater drop in pH, a darker colour, and accelerated vitamin degradation.
- Opened containers can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Indications: Enteral nutrition is generally indicated when the ability to consume adequate normal nutrition is absent or limited, in particular in cases of:
- Increased energy and nutrient requirements
- Wasting diseases
- Impaired wound healing
- Fluid restriction (e.g. in renal insufficiency during dialysis)
- Loss of appetite
- Convalescence
- Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases

Contraindications: - General contraindications for enteral nutrition such as intestinal atony, ileus, acute gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Not suitable in severe malabsorption.
- Relative contraindication in hepatic insufficiency, renal insufficiency, acute pancreatitis depending on status.
- Not suitable for congenital metabolic disorders or intolerance to any ingredient contained in Fresubin 2kcal Drink or Fresubin 2kcal fibre Drink.
- In severe organ failure such as severe hepatic or renal insufficiency, Fresubin 2kcal Drink or Fresubin 2kcal fibre Drink should be used with caution depending on the patient’s nitrogen tolerance.
- Not suitable for children under 1 year of age.
