In the meantime, devices such as microscopes or various analytical instruments are indispensable in medical laboratories. They allow a quick and, above all, accurate determination of parameters directly on site, so that patients can be promptly informed about your state of health.
At Meddax24 you will find all the laboratory equipment and the corresponding test strips for various laboratory parameters from leading manufacturers, which you need for your examinations. For example, you can get heating cabinets for quick incubation of culture media, microscopes for magnifying the smallest particles or centrifuges for separating different substances from each other.
The most well-known device in the category of laboratory equipment is undoubtedly the blood glucose meter. It is not only found in medical practices but also serves diabetics at home on a daily basis. With a blood glucose meter, blood sugar levels can be measured easily, allowing diet and medication to be perfectly coordinated—without the need for a doctor's visit. Normal blood glucose values are below 110 mg/dl when fasting and below 140 mg/dl two hours after eating or following an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), also known as a glucose challenge test. In this test, a sugar solution is consumed, enabling the doctor to determine whether the rise and fall of blood sugar levels are within a normal range. During pregnancy, the OGTT is performed to rule out gestational diabetes.
Laboratory Equipment for Specialized Purposes
However, laboratory equipment is capable of much more. Take, for example, a microscope, which can make bacteria, viruses, and cells visible. The first of these are often placed in an incubator before and/or after examination to observe their growth and, if necessary, determine the appropriate antibiotic using an antibiogram. Nearly everyone has had a blood sample taken at some point, but many are unaware of what happens to it afterward or have never given it much thought. In this process, a microscope may be used once again, or a centrifuge may be employed to separate the blood. This allows for the extraction of either blood plasma or blood serum.
