In our online store you will find numerous cannulas from well-known manufacturers, such as B.Braun, Terumo and Sarstedt. We offer all of them at reasonable and fair prices.
Basically, the cannulas are not only available in different sizes, but also with different cuts and medical purposes. For example, in addition to disposable cannulas, you will also find venipuncture cannulas, indwelling venous cannulas and catheters, as well as cannula ejection containers in this category in our online store.
A cannula, also known as a hollow needle or injection needle, is the attachment for a syringe. The inside of the cannula is hollow, and it has a beveled tip. Similar to a lancet, this design allows for a small incision in the skin. If the cannula had a straight-cut tip, the injection would be much more painful for the patient.
In addition to the standard lancet bevel, there are also:
Facet bevel
Single bevel
V-Bevel
Pencil Point
Huber tip
Quincke bevel
Back bevel
Menghini bevel
Like syringes, cannulas come in different sizes and are designed for various medical applications. The size of the cannula is primarily determined by the type and volume of the substance being administered.
Safety Cannulas
Safety cannulas are special single-use needles designed to prevent needle-stick injuries. When used for infusions, blood collection, etc., the protection system can be activated, allowing the healthcare professional to safely handle the needle without risk of accidental injury. This effectively protects medical personnel from potential hazards.
Venipuncture Cannulas
Venipuncture cannulas are also referred to as butterfly needles or infusion sets. They are equipped with a Luer-Lock connection, making it easy to attach them to other tubing systems. The term ""butterfly"" comes from the two small wings on the sides, which make securing the cannula much easier. Venipuncture cannulas are commonly used for blood collection, preparing for infusions, and administering medications.
Indwelling Venous Cannulas
An indwelling venous cannula consists of a needle encased in an infusion cannula. It also includes an adapter for the infusion system. The needle is only used for puncturing the vein and is then removed, leaving the cannula in place inside the vein. These are also known as venous catheters or Venulas and are particularly useful for infusion therapy.
This variant provides a particularly painless injection method, as it usually only needs to be inserted once. There are different measurement systems for cannulas, including:
Outer diameter in millimeters
Gauge system (G)
Pravaz system
Charrière (Ch) or French (Fr) system
To quickly distinguish different cannula sizes, a color-coding system has been introduced. However, to a layperson, these colors may appear random—ranging from brown-olive to purple, pink, black, and yellow, each representing a different size.
In our shop, you will find a wide range of cannulas from various manufacturers, suitable for every medical purpose and size.
