The BLAST™ bandage has been developed to cover wounds such as amputations, burns or extensive injuries as quickly as possible. Although, when packed, it is only about the size of an approx. 10 cm wide bandage, it can be used to cover injuries of approx. 50 x 50 cm. The non-adherent wound dressing can simply be wrapped around, e.g. the abdomen, and secured with the elastic bandage, providing extensive protection for, e.g. shrapnel or burn wounds. Thanks to the size of the BLAST™ bandage, almost the entire chest or the entire back can be covered.
In addition, the BLAST™ bandage offers a removable occlusive layer measuring 47.5 x 47.5 cm, which can be used to protect abdominal injuries in order to minimise heat and fluid loss. Each bandage is individually sterile and vacuum-packed.
