<p>Fresubin Protein Energy Drinks are fibre-free oral nutritional supplements with a high energy density (300 kcal per EasyDrink – 1.5 kcal/ml).</p>
Fresubin Protein Energy Drinks offer a balanced fatty acid profile for the cardiovascular system, blood vessels and the immune system.
An adequate supply of vitamins and trace elements is ensured from 3 EasyDrinks per day.
In the single-flavour cartons you receive 24 EasyDrinks of the desired flavour; to be able to try all 6 flavours, we also offer the mixed carton with 4 EasyDrinks of each of the 6 flavours.</p>
<p><b>Product properties:</b>
- High-calorie (1.5 kcal/ml)
- High in protein (10 g/100 ml)
- Fibre-free (except chocolate: low in fibre)
- 6 different flavours
- Low lactose
- Gluten-free</p>
<p><b>Dosage:</b>
- Average daily dose as a supplement: 2–3 EasyDrinks
- Average daily dose as sole nutrition: 5 EasyDrinks</p>
<p><b>Storage of the nutrition</b>
- Optimal storage conditions at room temperature (15°C to 25°C).
- Refrigerated storage (up to 4°C) is possible for 3 months without loss of quality; however, Fresubin Energy Drink Chocolate should not be stored below 15°C.
- Storage at higher temperatures (up to 40°C) is possible for up to 1 month. Storage at higher temperatures (up to 40°C) generally leads to faster, more pronounced creaming, a greater drop in pH, a darker colour and accelerated vitamin degradation.
- Opened containers can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.</p>
<p><b>Indications:</b>
Enteral nutrition is generally indicated when normal nutrition is not possible or is insufficient, in particular in cases of:
- Increased energy and nutrient requirements
- Wasting diseases
- Impaired wound healing
- Loss of appetite
- Convalescence
- Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases</p>
<p><b>Contraindications:</b>
- General contraindications for enteral nutrition such as intestinal atony, ileus, acute gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Not suitable in severe malabsorption.
- Not suitable in congenital metabolic disorders or intolerance to an ingredient contained in Fresubin Protein Energy Drink.
- In severe organ failure such as severe hepatic or renal insufficiency, Fresubin Protein Energy Drink should be used with caution depending on the patient’s nitrogen tolerance.
- Not suitable for children under 1 year of age.</p>
