Hydrofilm is a self-adhesive transparent film dressing that is indispensable in modern wound management. Featuring many product benefits, Hydrofilm primarily serves to reliably protect the wound against secondary infections.
Application:
For protection against secondary infections and mechanical irritation in dry, primarily healing wounds, in almost healed epithelial wounds, and for the fixation of catheters and cannulas; ideal for covering gel-forming calcium alginate dressings such as Sorbalgon.
Characteristics:
Hydrofilm is germ-proof and waterproof, yet permeable to oxygen and water vapour. It therefore provides an effective barrier against germs without significantly impairing skin respiration. Irritation of the skin surrounding the wound is prevented.
The skin-friendliness of Hydrofilm is supported by the use of a hypoallergenic adhesive, which is well tolerated even by patients with particularly sensitive skin.
Despite reliable adhesion, the wound dressing can be removed painlessly and without damaging newly formed epithelium.
The ultra-thin and elastic Hydrofilm material conforms perfectly to body contours. The adhesive underside is covered with a more rigid protective film, ensuring easy application even when wearing gloves.
The transparency of Hydrofilm allows inspection of the wound and surrounding skin area, or of catheter and cannula fixations, at any time without the time-consuming removal of the dressing.
The waterproof Hydrofilm material makes daily personal hygiene easier; showering with the dressing is possible.
