Pehalast is an elastic gauze bandage made of pure cotton with woven edges. It has proven effective for all dressings that are difficult to apply with rigid gauze bandages and do not stay in place well.
Application:
For all types of fixation bandages, especially on joints as well as on conical and rounded parts of the body; when sterilised, also as a direct wound dressing, e.g. in hand surgery.
Characteristics:
Pehalast achieves its 65% elasticity through highly twisted warp threads, which also give the bandage a crepe-like structure. This makes the individual bandage turns adhere firmly to each other without slipping and conform perfectly to all parts of the body even without reverse turns.
Dressings made with Pehalast do not constrict and do not impair blood circulation or desired joint movements.
Because only pure natural fibres are used, Pehalast is highly absorbent and skin-friendly. When sterilised, Pehalast can therefore also be applied directly to the wound, for example in hand surgery. Here, wrapping the bandage directly without a wound dressing ensures the precision necessary for restoring hand function.
Pehalast can be sterilised (steam A 134 °C).
