With this device, room air is drawn in, the oxygen is filtered out, concentrated and then supplied back to the patient via a nasal cannula/oxygen glasses. The device has a humidifier bottle through which the oxygen is routed so that the nasal mucosa does not dry out too much. This must always be filled with sufficient distilled water. The bottle should be rinsed out at least once a week with vinegar water or similar.
