Octenisept by SCHÜLKE & MAYR is a particularly effective and skin-friendly antiseptic thanks to the unique combination of octenidine and phenoxyethanol. In addition to normal wound care, the antiseptic is also used for antiseptic treatment of mucous membranes and adjacent skin prior to diagnostic and surgical procedures. Thanks to its pain-free and highly effective application, Octenisept is even suitable for infants and premature babies.

octenisept® Wound Disinfection
Composition: 100 g solution contain: Medicinally active ingredients: octenidine dihydrochloride 0.1 g, phenoxyethanol (Ph. Eur.) 2.0 g. Other ingredients: 2-[(3-coconut fatty acid amide propyl)dimethylazaniumyl]acetate, sodium D-gluconate, glycerol 85%, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, purified water.
Indications: For repeated, time-limited supportive antiseptic wound treatment.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the medicinally active ingredients or any of the other ingredients. octenisept® Wound Disinfection should not be used for irrigation in the abdominal cavity (e.g. intraoperatively) or the urinary bladder, and not on the eardrum.
Side effects: As a subjective symptom, a temporary burning sensation may occur in rare cases. In isolated cases, contact-allergic reactions such as temporary redness at the treated site are possible. If you notice side effects other than those described here, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.
Warnings and precautions for use: To prevent possible tissue damage, the product must not be introduced into tissue under pressure or injected. In wound cavities, outflow must be ensured at all times (e.g. drainage, wick). Do not swallow large amounts of octenisept® Wound Disinfection or allow it to enter the bloodstream, e.g. through accidental injection. Use of octenisept® Wound Disinfection in the eye should be avoided. In the event of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
