The microscope slides have proven superior for cell adhesion in cytocentrifugal preparations and for standard Papanicolaou smears. They bind fresh frozen sections and cytological specimens by electrostatic attraction. A bridge is formed, enabling covalent bonds to develop between formalin-fixed tissue sections and the glass.
