Auditory Ossicles Set
The middle ear consists of three small ossicles: the malleus (hammer), the incus (anvil) and the stapes (stirrup). These ossicles transmit and amplify sounds from the eardrum to the inner ear. They are located in the tympanic cavity in the temporal bone. In their natural arrangement, they are so small that they fit on a fingernail. The ossicles are supplied in a transparent Petri dish with a matching foam insert. The ossicles can be removed easily.
