- Storage at higher temperatures (up to 40°C) possible for up to 1 month. Storage at higher temperatures (up to 40°C) generally leads to faster and more pronounced creaming, a greater drop in pH, a darker colour and accelerated vitamin degradation.
- Opened containers can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Enteral nutrition is generally indicated when normal food intake is not possible or is insufficient, in particular in cases of:
- Increased energy and nutrient requirements
- Catabolic diseases
- Impaired wound healing
- Loss of appetite
- Convalescence
- Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases

Contraindications:
- General contraindications to enteral nutrition such as intestinal atony, ileus, acute gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Not suitable in cases of severe malabsorption.
- Not suitable for congenital metabolic disorders or intolerance to any ingredient contained in Fresubin Protein Energy Drink.
- In severe organ failure such as severe hepatic or renal insufficiency, Fresubin Protein Energy Drink should be used with caution depending on the patient’s nitrogen tolerance.
