HEINESCIENTIFIC Osteoporosis model
This osteoporosis model consists of three vertebral bodies cut in the median plane and featuring intervertebral discs. The cut surface of the upper vertebra shows a healthy bone structure, while the middle level displays an osteoporotic bone structure. The lower vertebra shows advanced osteoporosis with depressed superior and inferior endplates, also known as a “fish vertebra”. The osteoporotic vertebral bones have a significantly reduced density. The osteoporosis model is mounted on a stable base, and for detailed examination the individual vertebral bodies can be removed from the stand.

3B SCIENTIFIC Catheterization simulator PRO, female
With the P93 PRO female catheterisation trainer, female bladder catheterisations can be realistically demonstrated, practised and evaluated either via the urethra (transurethral) or through the abdominal wall (suprapubic). The genital insert is fitted into an anatomically correct lower abdomen model using magnetic connections. The material is soft and flexible: the labia are movable and can be separated. This allows learners to practise all necessary steps (e.g. disinfection) for catheterisation. The material provides a highly realistic feel when inserting and removing the catheter into/from the bladder, with realistic resistance and insertion depths.

Direct learning effect:
When the catheter is positioned correctly, fluid flows out just as it does with a real patient. In addition, the catheter position can be checked through the transparent bladder. The abdominal wall on the PRO version can be removed so that the process during urethral catheterisation can be better visualised.

Changing and care of a suprapubic bladder catheter:
If catheterisation via the urethra is no longer possible, a suprapubic catheter must be placed. The suprapubic catheter is usually inserted by a doctor through the abdominal wall into the filled urinary bladder and fixed to the abdominal wall. With the PRO version, suprapubic catheter changes and aftercare can be practised. Aftercare includes changing the dressing, cleaning the catheter and disinfecting the wound.

Note:
For catheterisation, we recommend using catheters with only one or 2 opposite drainage eyes. Both silicone and PVC catheters can be used.

Urethral constriction “Partial constriction” = 14 CH catheter or 12 CH Foley catheter
Catheters with a curved tip should not be used!

Tip:
In accordance with the guidelines for correct catheterisation, even in simulation a small amount of lubricating gel (not included in the scope of delivery) should be introduced into the urethra or into the puncture site on the abdominal wall to ensure smooth insertion of the catheter. Alternatively, the lubricating gel can also be applied to the tip of the catheter.
