MortellaroVet ProBiotic is designed for the care- and hygiene-related reduction of hoof problems promoted by putrefaction, such as Mortellaro.
Mortellaro and other problems caused by putrefaction are promoted by an unhealthy, decaying stable microflora. MortellaroVet ProBiotic strengthens the aerobic microbial flora, which naturally makes putrefaction more difficult or displaces it. As a result, the hoof bath provides the claws/hooves with an environment that reduces and helps prevent care- and hygiene-related causes of stress.
Putrefactive germs and pathogens can generally be displaced by a healthy stable and skin flora.
Mortellaro in cows
In cows in free-stall housing, Mortellaro is often a major health problem and thus soon a financial problem for the owner.
What are the main causes:
1. Moisture in the barn leads to rotting manure and slurry. Slurry decomposes anaerobically and is an ideal breeding ground for putrefactive germs, which can become a problem especially on damp and macerated areas of skin.
2. Metabolic overload in cows also leads to cows trying to detoxify via the skin. This produces cheese-like secretions. These secretions are an ideal nutrient medium for putrefactive bacteria. If the affected areas of skin are not cared for sufficiently, inflammation quickly develops, which can spread through the barn like an epidemic.
The causes of such occurrences are therefore primarily inadequate care and incorrect feeding and housing conditions.
How can cdVet help:
1. With care using Klauen-Gel.
Klauen-Gel binds moisture and forms an oxygen-permeable dressing that dries the skin, massively relieves the skin to support healthy natural regeneration, and at the same time prevents re-soiling of the affected areas. Klauen-Gel is therefore a product for individual animal care that has been almost indispensable in the hoof sector for more than 14 years.
2. MortellaroVet ProBiotic is a further development based on fermented herbs, which have a strong germ-displacing effect and thus create natural competition for harmful germs. The product is almost identical to cdSept and is already used for this purpose in dairy barns. Experience shows that use in the hoof bath is helpful for a healthy hoof and stable flora.
It is important to ensure that there are no residues of chemical products in the hoof bath, otherwise the effect of MortellaroVet ProBiotic will be limited. Therefore, use in a new hoof bath tray is recommended.
The otherwise typical problem of contamination by faeces in hoof bath trays is rather unproblematic when using MortellaroVet ProBiotic. The organic inputs in the hoof bath, through the use of MortellaroVet ProBiotic, themselves become a medium for beneficial germs and are thus able to displace existing harmful germs.
For treating the walking surfaces, HuminoVet powder should occasionally be spread. HuminoVet initiates the natural composting process, which helps to prevent floating layers in the slurry and at the same time strongly displaces putrefactive and thus pathogenic germs as well as putrefactive germs that promote Mortellaro.
From a nutritional point of view, the metabolism can be significantly relieved with MicroAgrar MK. The cost-effectiveness of MicroAgrar MK is already achieved simply by promoting feed utilisation and thus the utilisation of basic forage.

Important: Do not use any aids (syringes, watering cans, sprayers, ...) that have previously been used with chemical disinfectants. These can destroy or reduce the effect of MortellaroVet ProBiotic.
MortellaroVet ProBiotic is a purely biological product produced by natural fermentation. It is non-toxic and 100% biodegradable and can therefore also be used in occupied barns.
Care product for cows
Composition: fermented plant extract from wild and culinary herbs
Recommended use: Hoof bath: Use a 5% solution as required. After each pass, top up by 1% until a positive base flora is established. For continuous use, a 1–2% solution and top up by 0.5–1% as required.
Hoof washing system: 5% solution until a positive base flora is established. For continuous use, 1% solution.
In general, supporting aerobic humification of the stable flora through the use of HuminoVet powder is recommended.
